After riding with the fire station to an apartment building where neighbors had been hearing a woman scream, reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman Scott Percival (Steve Harris) get locked inside by police on the outside of the building, even going as far as to cut off all forms of communication to anywhere else. Wondering why the police would quarantine the residents and themselves into the building they soon discover that is the least of their worries as residents have become infected by an unknown disease that is causing them to violently attack anyone they see. They continue to catch all of this on their camera to document how they are being locked in for dead.
